The hug that rocked the internet! LOL! Poor Carol, though. She is so badass now, but so damaged. And Daryl wants so badly to help. It's a lovely dynamic they've got going there. I think the next episode will be focused on them (and whatever's going on with Beth), so I can't wait. And who is with Daryl when he meets up with Michonne? My bet is on Morgan. He's been following them, too. *fingers crossed*
Morgan is the guy from the first episode - he and his son saved Rick when he first wandered out of the hospital. Then they found him again in Season 3 in Clear, when Rick, Michonne and Carl went for supplies, and he had built that booby trapped area. His son had been killed by his wife, who he had been unable to put down and he kind of lost his mind. He was in the final scene of the first episode of S5 looking pretty sane. Did you see him? It was after the credits so some people missed it or it got cut off on the recording if you DVR.
Oh! No, I had no idea!! I download, and never watch past the credits. Thanks for telling me, because I would have been like, Huh? Where did he come from?? Heh.
Of course those cannibals had to be killed, but I wouldn't have minded seeing them around for one, maybe two more episodes. They were such grand evil ones with the best of taste! Okay, that was cheap. But their storyline really freaked me out, and I "enjoyed" all aspects of that horror feeling. But yeah, I guess it's better for them to go out with a bang than having them dragged along until it gets repetitive.
Hee! Yeah, I totally agree that I wouldn't have minded them as foes for a big longer, but I'm just glad that once our gang had them cornered, they didn't do some bullshit thing like let the cannibals go because they're human. I figured Rick and co. had tricked them (I mean, it would have been intensely stupid if they hadn't!), and clearly they needed to go.
I think Tyrese told Carol he killed that guy in the cabin, right? But clearly not. I mean, I get not wanting to kill people when it's not necessary, this is a brave new world. Gotta protect your own through whatever means are necessary, obviously.
Chad Coleman said on Talking Dead that Tyreese thought he had killed the guy, but apparently he was just knocked out. But if that's the case they really should explain that on screen somehow. Maybe it will come up at some point. Obviously the storyline for Tyreese this season is about how difficult it is for him to kill.
I didn't understand why the others weren't with Rick in the premiere when he wanted to go back and wipe the remaining Termites out right then. That was so stupid of Glenn to be all "Live and let eat". Those people were fucked up and they needed to die, if only to stop them from doing it to others in the future.
But how amazeballs was Rick killing Gareth? I think I swooned a few times. Nice Guy Rick bores me. Chopping People Up With A Machete Rick just makes me wanna marry him. Yeah, I'm weird that way.
I thought Glenn was saying to let the zombies eat the survivors? I might have misunderstood, because if he was saying that in regards to the cannibals, that's definitely bullshit. I thought he meant that it was poetic justice in a way for the cannibals to get eaten by the walkers...
Oh yeah, face-eating, machete-chopping Rick is the best. THE BEST. Look, man, those people were bad and needed to go. I love a character who will get shit done with a minimum of fussing. There's no place for moral handwringing in this world when it comes to eliminating enemies.
