hehe. guns in medieval times were very risky.. but see i am a lvl 12 fighter/lvl 1 rogue whose specialty is gunsmithing. i have lots of ranks in my craft of gunsmithing. while they arent always reliable and do have chances of blowing up, its so cool to use them... the extra damage is really nice too. up until i became a gunsmith tho i used a repeating crossbow for ranged attacks. but i wield a +2 keen bastard sword primary and an adamantium shortsword in my offhand producing 5 attacks per round and eating things up in melee... so melee is my favorite

I don't much like using guns for D&D... Most medieval guns had a 1 in 4 chance or so for blowing up in your hands. Not pretty, or reliable...
There are many myths about dragons in many different cultures... What kinds of ideas are you thinking about within your story? Etc, etc?
