I was raised to love the Mets, loving the Mets means hating the Yankees -- sorry, I just do.
Along with that, I have grown to adore Boston. I can't help it, but I like them dirty, scruffy boys.
Now if it came down to it, and the Mets played the Sox, I'd surely root for the Mets. On the other hand if the Yankees were to play the Braves, I would root for the Yankees...because the Braves are the Mets rival. This is just as my friend Elyse, who's a Yankee's fan, said she would root for the Mets in the situation described before...because the Sox are the Yankee's rival.
I'm not a fake New Yorker...but when it comes to baseball, we are just DIFFERENT New Yorkers...can't help it dude.
(And I know you'll have some talk shit response, you always do -- but I just figured I'd give you the real deal and then you can continue to bash us "fake new yorkers" if it gives you some sort of odd pleasure.)
