Bow Down Before The Gamble

Ladies and Gentlemen, just in case I haven’t made it clear before, I will say it again. Sera Gamble is my hero. Last night’s episode was just…keyboard-smashing good.

+ Dean loves him some zombies!

+ Oh, Sam. This is the greatest illustration of last minute desperation I can’t even put words together. He’d rather have FrankenDean than no Dean at all ( Read more... )

tv: supernatural, jensen's bowlegs, i sold my soul to sera gamble

Sera is a fangirl's best friend. She invented "the epic love story of Sam and Dean" and this ep? Rocked my socks so hard, especially aftering being a bit disappointed with some of last week's ( ... )

ALSO, bowlegs! Thank you for this picture, I will hug it forever and forever. Jensen's bowlegs are right up there with Sammy's hair in favoritest things in the world.

Also, she managed to explain why Dean was so gung-ho about trying to kill a demon last week: he believes that if he kills Lilith, the contract is terminated, which is what I was hoping he thought. So yay! I was right! And the plot hole wasn't completely shoved aside!

Dean loves zombies the way he loved werewolves before "Heart" and he and Sammy had to learn the hard way that werewolves are just people with fur and anger management issues. And also that they read our fanfic and stuff, because good shows (Heroes, SPN, Buffy, etc.) do that.

I have been loving Sammy this season! Every new episode makes me go "OMG! I LOVE HIM!" in surprise, because before I've always loved Dean and just really liked Sammy (when he's with Dean). But now I love Sammy on his own. When they split up for their separate missions... so beautiful and heart-stabby. I think it's just because... Sammy has been so much more independent and... human? I don't know. His desperation makes him hot, 'cause he does things that he normally would've just bitched about. Nnng ( ... )

Guys, he hops up steps like a cartoon frog. I LOVE HIM.

Literally laughs out loud, and promptly chokes on vanilla ice cream and kahlua. I love you for saying that. *laughs some more*

I really don't think Dean keeps too many blow-up dolls in the trunk. You see, that's what Damsel Samantha is for. How else is she going to thank the Shiny Knight?

I feel the same way about Bela. I left a comment... somewhere (I can't post my own episode squee until Monday at the latest... *sad face*) about how, the moment I have some shred of positive regard for Bela, it's 'cause she's gettin' herself relocated. And ripped to shreds by hellhounds. But then relocated. She was very real with the fear and wanting Lilith to die somehow.

However, I know that if she hadn't died in this episode, I still wouldn't have liked her very much in future episodes. I think what I like the most about her in this episode is how helpless and completely aware of how fucked she is. I swear I got hot watching her cry and beg as Dean shot her down (omg, hotflash) with the " ( ... )

I think any chance of a solid background got flushed with the strike and yet (OMGSERAGAMBLE)the writer's managed to put it together and do a fantastic job doing it in an episode that didn't even feature Bela as the main focus. I'm pretty sure her part/mentions of her made up less than ten minutes of that episode and yet we got a full explanation. Loved it.

I'm hoping that they didn't show the hellhounds for creative purposes, and not financial.

Right, I do too. I just noticed they didn't show the demon leaving the guy in the beginning either. I'd guess that was more for budget and the hell hounds might have been a creative choice. It worked, either way.

In a word? YES.

In five words? BOW DOWN BEFORE THE GAMBLE.

Desperation. Guh. I think Bela's characterization probably got jipped because of the strike. If only we could get a glimpse into what we would've seen if we had twice as many episodes. *sigh* Although, this was sort of a glimpse as to what we would've seen with Bela, I think, and they did an amazing job with what they had, imo. She had personality, which floored me. I was like whoa, a person! But really it was all about Dean putting that bullet next to her head. :p

I know we probably would have seen some Bela background story spread about if we weren't running six episodes short. Bah. I won't think about it.

But really it was all about Dean putting that bullet next to her head.

UH HUH.
