Death Cab For Cutie - I Will Possess Your Heart

Death Cab. Ending writer's block since 1997. At just under nine minutes long, this song is quiet enough that it won't distract you, but not so slow that it will put you to sleep. The first four minutes of the song are purely instrumental and then comes Ben Gibbard's voice:

I'm not exactly a writer, but I have no writing music - and that might be okay, but the weird thing is I have no drawing music either. Almost every other artist(woah, that's a big word)/fanartist I ever met likes music on in the background when they draw, but the truth is it makes no difference to me if music's on or off, and if it does, it's likely that it's because the music's distracting me.
It's because when I write or draw, I'm so *into* the process of writing and drawing all the senses I don't need to write or draw are turned off. I just recently realized that's kinda weird among artists - not so much among writers, but still.

I think I need to the music to get into the process, and then it fades into a quiet hum I don't notice. Until it's gone, anyway. I can't write in silence; perhaps it's my Generation Y, spoiled American upbringing. I always need a television on in the background or headphones set over my ears.

:p

I like your our random monologues!
