I don't feel like I understand what Imzy is, even after googling. Is it... Tumblr redux? Tumblr-style page but with DW/LJ communities / a journal site? A reddit-style forum site, but nicer...?

I think it's supposed to be reddit-esque, but easier to moderate? (Only the people running it don't want to say reddit because reddit has such a bad rep.) So everything is supposed to be in communities and you find communities to chat in?

Only, of course, what we're all used to doing with social media now is making a profile/blog for ourselves and using it to collate all of our posts on different topics for our friends to find, rather than randos who are interested in the subject, which makes it more or less like DW, only without quite as much functionality.

I'm pretty much only using it because a lot of people who migrated to twitter/tumblr exclusively are picking it up, and I really like having threaded comments again at last instead of trying to shrink all remarks to 140chars, but I guess we'll see what happens!

Want an invite? It's a bit easier to see what's up if you've poked around in it a bit and I have like a hundred of them.

If it's not too much trouble, sure, why not! I moved to Tumblr post-LJ because that's where all the people went, but dear god does it have its drawbacks as a platform for actual conversation.
