Zzzzzach-

Greek theater is awful. History class and theater class shouldn't mix; the end result is the greek unit or, what's worse, The Ramayana. My condolences,

Matt

oh, they;re both important. you need to undestand the texts you're working with, and having a background of theatre history helps that.
that said, jim kindof sucks, so...while important, not always interesting. (given, ouryear was the year he was gone with that staff infection.)

Is "getting a background of theater history" a sufficient rationale for subjecting the aspiring actor to the humiliation of standing up on a stage with a Sad-Face paper bag over his head, reciting an archaic, ridiculous text and swinging his arms wide in front of what he hopes will still be his friends when he's done?

Of course, you're right. The history of theater IS extremely important, and should absolutely be taught, Greek included.

But let's keep theater theater and history history, that's all I'm saying. And in the hands of a competent director, a play derived from the Greek Theater may be extremely effective, I'll concede that. But as a Jim-taught afterthought of a unit, greek theater is nothing but a big embarassment.

you have no idea how much your first sentance made me laugh. i'd forgotten all about that!
and i was always embarrassed in front of people....so....there wasn't much of a difference for me. only then they couldn't see my faceXD
if it's any consolation, i can't remember yours AT ALL.
i do remember your movement final, though.
