I know I'm coming out of my self-imposed exile to post something not-fun, but this kerfuffle happening in SPN fandom and beyond is something I have to comment upon.

First of all, there's a brilliant DON'T BLAME THE VICTIM rant here, but what I really want to examine is the idea of 'personal responsibility' that harmonyfb talks about in the comment thread
