I've got a job. I will soon be an 'Administrative Officer' for the local Job Centre. Hurrah!

And a hearty ironic congratulation to you.

My interview tips worked, then ...?

Sure did. I did the exact opposite of what you advised and it paid off.

It was actually a very odd interview. Very swift. I couldn't see that they'd learnt very much about me, and so suspected they'd already made their minds up not to hire me even before the interview, on account of my lack of experience and references. But no, they're obviously just looking for a bit of eye candy in the workplace. Lucky for me.

That's actually a tactic that will stand you in god stead in all sorts of areas.

Are you happy?

I'm happy to be deemed employable, and to be able to gain some experience which will make filling in future application forms considerably easier.

Yeah, I am pretty happy. It's only a temporary position too (I don't know how many months...) so it's nice to ease myself into this sort of work.

Hurrah! That's my job title too (apart from the pretentious brackety type bit after it :s).

What does it say in your brackets?

Administrative Officer (Hot bitch).

Ok, so it really says Administrative Officer (Learning, Teaching and Quality) but that's just a mistake on the behalf of my employers.

Nice one Biggie! Now you can sneer at the unemployed, and they never need to know that you were one of them not that long ago!
