Life wasn't meant to be easy!
So here's my giant whinge from last night. Feel free to skip or grab a cuppa or a glass of wine and read on.
After being excited for weeks and changing my holiday plans so I could see Adam on 11th July I dutifully sat by the computer at 6 pm last night (9 am in London) for the presale of the tickets for his show at the Apollo theatre.
As a former ticketholder from Sonisphere we were supposed to get codes/links by email so we could buy tickets on a pre-sale basis. Alas, NOTHING!! I checked the Adam Lambert fans site, nothing. Nothing in my emails. Tried the websites for the theatre and Ticketmaster. No hint of presale tix.
Rang the theatre and this woman gave me a promoter's name to google and told me to email them!!! And they would get back to me quickly which I did and didn't get a reply for about 3 hours. Kept going back to AL fansite then some kind person put up the link for the Ticketmaster site. So I went there and there is no allowance for a different delivery address to your billing address. There was no point getting them sent home as I wouldn't be there. GRRRRR! So then I tried ringing Ticketmaster with no success 3 times. BTW there was standing room only tix available by now. Now it's about 8 pm and I am soooo frustrated and starving and ready to rip out someone's throat/heart/something. Meanwhile I was skyping my daughter and asked if her flatmate had a credit card I could use. She was not impressed as she had problems of her own and didn't want to hear Adam's name again that night. She was hysterical and so was I.
I got the number for Customer Service for Ticketmaster. Tried twice and got cut off the first time and the second time A REAL PERSON ANSWERED. I could have cried with relief. So after I whinged to her about my difficulties with the tickets she tells me that I could pick them up at the theatre and she could book them over the phone. YESSSSS! There was still only standing room tix in the stalls so thought I would take them anyway. Then I thought I would book for both nights even if my daughter didn't want to go a second time. I figured I could sell the other ticket. So after all that I booked for 2 nights standing room only. I'm going to hate that. I did this for Adam in Sydney and it took my feet 3 days to recover. Oh well, at least I'll see him perform and now I'm so excited.
So tonight I went to the Apollo Theatre website just out of curiosity and there is reserved seating still available but only single seats right up the back. This has been a schmozzle from start to finish. Went back to the Adam site and made my displeasure known and there were many people who had the same trouble. After I'd booked I got an email back saying it was a completely different promoter and to get in touch with them. Fat help that was. So it was after 9 before I had dinner and had soup instead of cooking but it was home-made.
Today I've spent most of the day trying to rent an apartment in Paris with no success. They are either on 4th/6th floor with no elevator or not available or have pets. I have 3 possibles now and RSI from using the computer so much.
