Hey! Do you mind if I friend you? I found your journal on one Star Trek-related place or another, and I love:

1. Your layout
2. Your posts
3. Your love for Star Trek and fandoms in general

I'd like to keep up and hear what you've got to say :)

Nope, don't mind you friending at all, and I shall friend back because anyone who loves ST and K/S is a friend of mine! :) I'm pleased to note that my fangirl obsessions are pleasing to others; it enables me to babble about them more.

hi there~ was linked to the 'why slash?' thing by awakencordy and then I kind of just had a field day with pretty much everything on your journal. Also, I'm digging your sense of humour re: some of my favourite fandoms so hope you don't mind me friending you!

The first post on your journal discusses classical literature in the original series. Are you kidding me? Fastest friending *ever*. :D

Eeeee, I'm so flattered! :D

It is my ambition to be an English major. I wanna teach, but I'm sorta afraid all my lessons will end up having some titles like, "Classical Literature in the FUTURE" and "Kirk and Spock: JUST FRIENDS?", lol.

I'm certified to teach (though I've only gone through student teaching and am stuck with no open positions anywhere) and I can tell you that you can totally sneak in the fun stuff. I wasn't a trekkie then, but I did talk to a few students about Supernatural, and I always asked uncomfortable questions like "so, Shakespeare's sonnets, is your gaydar pinging?" :P I especially had fun teaching about the Greek culture and amazing them with their openly homoerotic culture. Students love shit like that, lol.
