Let's talk about slash :D

Apr 14, 2011 21:05

I've been thinking about doing a list of my favorite slash scenes from any fandom I've even dabbled in because dear lord have I seen amazingly gay things that have tried to pass as straight. I think it's fun sharing those with people, especially since my entire flist is made of slashers (kind of has to be, because I don't know what I'd do with a ( Read more... )

The final scene of the third episode of Sherlock. Hell, that whole miniseries might as well be subtitled "The Gay is Afoot."

So many episodes of Stargate Atlantis would qualify for this. But the top two scenes:

From The Shrine: http://youtu.be/fqIZI25RRtQ

From Miller's Crossing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4goFd0Qjqi8

John is just so head over heels in love with Rodney.

Then of course I could point out a million scenes from Smallville. ^_^

The first one, hot damn. I need to watch this show, clearly, because dear lord dude (John?) why don't you stare at your friend a little harder when you tell him that you want him even when he's all broken and can't remember who you are? And the second one, damn, INTENSE. Yep, any time one dude will sacrifice a mission/lives/security/etc. for another dude, that spells LOVE to me.

Oh, Smallville is so included. I think "Clark Kent and Lex Luthor: I like the sound of that" wins.

John/Rodney is basically canon. There are more example than I can count and I honestly view John Sheppard as a gay character, as do most people I talk to. It is beyond easy to interpret him that way and canon backs it up. Joe Flanigan who plays John also pushed for the John/Rodney relationship to be more central to the show, and stated that nobody meant more to John in the world than Rodney. He adjusted his body language to show it, always leaning toward Rodney and in Rodney's space. And he also wrote an episode called Outcast which the general theme of is that he has been disowned from his family which includes the fact that he married a woman for the sole reason of making his dad happy, but then disappointed him by divorcing her. There are a lot of rumors in the fandom that Joe's head canon was that John was gay to make the character more interesting for himself to play and it's quite obvious on screen.

Stargate Atlantis is magical and amazing. You should definitely watch it! Also, the fan fiction is INCREDIBLE.

I had no idea there was actually slash in CSI, lol. I'm actually not a fan of the show (yeah, one of the few apparently). I looked up some stuff on youtube and it's funny because while their dialogue isn't all that slashy, the actors somehow eyefuck each other like crazy and make everything sound like a freaking innuendo. Plus they're sexy. Me likey.

I am currently really into The Eagle. THE ENTIRE MOVIE, OKAY. ( Here is a pimping post, if that will help.) First, I should mention that there are no women in this movie. None ( ... )

Okay, I've seen you talking about this and I just sort of skimmed, thinking it was about some HBO miniseries or a book series or something and I'm not into period stuff, but BY GOD, I HAD NO IDEA THERE WAS ALL THIS. And I know it's bad, but the idea of no women in the movie appeals to me greatly. It's not that I'm misogynistic (lol, it's weird when a woman is) but more that writers ALWAYS try to put in a het love story in every god damn movie and it's nice to know that there's no chance of that happening. Plus, I don't know what it is, but most movies don't portray women correctly, and it's more that I'm super picky.

I AM WATCHING IT THIS WEEKEND. I TRUST YOUR JUDGMENT.

EEEEEEE! Um. Do you need, uh, a source? If you're, um, torrenting, I have been told the file to look for is ""The Eagle 2011 R5 XviD-ViSiON" (and make sure to grab the subtitle file to play with it). You need subtitles because the Celts don't speak English. (I don't have this version yet myself, but am hoping to soon.)

There's a woman in one scene, I think -- enslaved Marcus is staring at one of the Celt women and the chief's son is like "WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT MY SISTER?" and Esca grabs Marcus and shoves him to his knees and pulls his head back to bare his throat and is like "HERE YOU CAN TOTALLY KILL HIM" and it looks like this and it's pretty great ( ... )

I found a good copy at a movie download community pretty easy, so I'm good to go. :D I love me some h/c, so I'm looking forward to slashy fun.

THOSE HIPBONES. I have a weakness for male hipbones. I suppose the equivalent for girls are curvy hips and since I'm not strictly straight (who is, honestly?) I like a girl with meat on her bones.

I do appreciate the Doctor/Master stuff and that phone sex was delightful! I like a couple of episodes, but I think it's more that I'm apathetic about it.

Oh man, MERLIN. I pretty much love only the first season, and to me that's the only season they've done, but dear lord, how damn gay that show was! It's such a shame that it went to hetville in season two and apparently never left. :( I had so many more fic ideas until canon screwed them over and I know a lot of people can ignore canon and live in fanfic land, but after Arthur falls in love with Gwen out of nowhere, it's hard to keep shipping Arthur/Merlin. I have to agree though, that poison quest was when I realized that there was going to be epic slash. For fuck's sake, Arthur drinks poison so that Merlin can live!

Don't remind me of how gay TOS is! It really is so hard to choose just one scene. I think I might as well cheat and say 'the entire series'. It is hands-down the gayest thing I have ever seen. You can't do better than that unless two guys actually make out on screen
