Today is my third anniversary with Natalie! It's fallen in the middle of a busy week, so all we did today was have a nice steak dinner at Saltgrass. Even simple things are a joy with her, though. Hopefully we'll think of something fun to do this weekend to celebrate more.

So I went to Houston and evacuated my mom and her two cats in anticipation of hurricane Rita.  It was the worst driving experience of my life, which includes my cross-country trip driving a saturn towing a UHaul through a blizzard back from NASA LaRC.  The entire trip from my mom's apartment in Houston to mine in Austin took over 25 hours on ( Read more... )

Today I was officially inducted into Sigma Gamma Tau, the national aerospace engineering honor society. I normally balk at honor societies, but I figured this one would be worthwhile since I'd get to know people in the ASE department, and the smart ones at that. Okay, so President Bush was re-elected. I'm not happy about this, but at least this election apparently wasn't fraught with problems.
