Sarah Palin was selected by John McCain to be the second woman in our country's history to run for the Vice Presidency of the United States. She's going to attempt the break the glass ceiling that Geraldine Ferraro first cracked back in 1984, which is a cool thing on some level. As a feminist and a women's studies student, I think it's much more important to vote for someone that represents your rights instead of a woman who doesn't, just because she's a woman. I think in this case voting for a woman is almost self destructive since it's not going to get us women anywhere. In fact, Palin is against certain things, like choice, that women have been fighting to have for a long time. So in this case, right now, I'd rather vote for a man that represents my rights and opinions than a woman who doesn't.
