So with winter's snow and ice, my bike's brakes don't work as well as they normally do (I need more space to stop). You just have to plan to stop more in advance (those pedestrian crossings with the timers downtown really help). Of course, on de Maisonneuve in Westmount late in the evening, I don't even think of slowing down, because there's no one there. Except the other day, when as I was arriving at an intersection, I see a car on one side and a cop on the other. I slam on the brakes, look guiltily apologizing as I skid through the intersection, and then look back to see the car pass through the intersection without turning.

However, not as interesting or exciting as this story.

yeah, well, at least the cops i met were following silly instructions... yours seems to have been telling his partner about that one time he gave ethan hawke a speeding ticket for the thousandth time.
i forgot to mention that we crossed when all four directions were red. doesnt really mean we were right, just not in danger.
