When I was a kid, I used to watch American Gladiators. (I even saw a live version of it in Rupp Arena, starring the actual gladiators. That ruled.) Now, I've just learned that NBC is producing a revival of it to start next season (or maybe ASAP given the writer's strike ( Read more... )

I think your show might have actually been part of the cartoon adaptation of Where In the World is Carmen Sandiego? I can picture the artwork of the show you're describing and the artwork of the Carmen Sandiego cartoon series, and I think it's the same style.

Or I might be totally wrong.

Also: Over my vacation, my brother and I spent Wednesday night getting thoroughly drunk at The Pub in Lexington (have you ever been? AWESOME restaurant near Joseph-Beth's), watching American Gladiators on their TVs, and coming up with malicious/sadistic ways of "improving" the show. :-D

No... I've never had the chance to do much pub crawling in Lexington, what with not living there since before I could drink. I imagine it would be easier if I had someone to go with, too. And was there sometime other than the holidays.
