might be a vacuum leak somewhere, if you're losing power while braking.

That being a problem with the brakes? I already need to have them looked at; one of my disc brakes pulses, which I believe is probably a warped rotor.

hmm. does your car have a tachometer? are the RPMs dropping too or is it just the fan?
