When the professor turned on the overhead projector (which is actually videocamera-based) the words "we are watching you" appeared on the screen. Very funny. Until the professor tried to remove them and found out they'd been written in marker on the surface, and weren't easily erasable

it likely would have erased if it was done shortly after it was written -- that is, they may have tested it, found it erased, and then written it -- simple mistake
