I hate Atlanta citizens sometimes. Thanks to the gas shortage (imagine! who thought they'd live through an actual gas shortage in the 21st century?) people are stepping up to conserve, by taking public transit, carpooling, telecommuting, etc. But as soon as gas supply is back to normal they'll go back to doing things the way they were before... Jesus fucking christ, people are SO GODDAMN STUPID about the "gas crisis." We waited inline at QT for 15ish minutes to get gas on saturday - and I was seriously THIS CLOSE to killing the guy in front of us. He was driving a huge fuckin suburban, and was apparently determined to get every last possible drop into the tank. He stood there pushing his car back and forth, I dunno, hoping the goddamn bubbles would work themselves out or something. He also drew the nozzle too far out, trying to fill up the whole gas tube or some shit, and spilled gas all down the side of his car. I seriously almost got out of the car and fucking punched him. Christ.

Joke on him: after the nozzle shuts itself off automatically, any gas put in beyond that point--the "topping off" gas--evaporates pretty much immediately. He might as well have taken an extra five bucks from his pocket and set it on fire.

Idioth.

well.... you know you could be part of the solution

I don't know what you're doing te conserve but you and G could totally work together to save some gas (and get your lazy ass out of bed before 1pm)

I was going to take the scooter to school this week, but as I was doing my usual pre-ride checks I noticed that the rear tire was low, again. So, I took it to the gas station to put air in it, and as I was doing so realized that it's the rubber grommet around the valve stem that's leaking. Since I'm not willing to risk getting stuck somewhere with a flat and unfixable-in-the-field tire, I'm considering the scooter out of commision for the time being, much as I'd rather not.
