Crazy talk! MTV2, CSPAN2, ESPN360(sorta), HBO, cinemax, and showtime all have at least one numbered duplicate.

We use them, we just don't use them for our broadcast stations, in large part because we don't have a monopolistic broadcast corporation like the UK and (I suspect) the Aussies. :)

Of course, none of our channels call themselves "Channel 7", except local channels. And those are wrong 90% of the time as far as I can tell. :)

They are only wrong if you aren't using broadcast. If you get them over the airwaves, they have the correct number.
