A pool makes a fabulous heat sink. A couple of issues remain. MicroCHP needs to benefit from economies of scale before more than a tiny minority of people will use them. The capital cost is still pretty high in relation to large scale, or even medium scale co-generation systems. Once you have the economy of scale for microCHP, the number of people then dumping electricity on the grid will make synchro equipment necessary which further increases the cost
