I just spent the last 26 hours with no Internet access at home. I have a term paper due on Monday and a final exam on Tuesday, both of require the Internet for me to be able to work on them.

I had to spend about 2 hours on the phone with Comcast over those 26 hours to convince them that yes, someone needs to show up today to fix this. It turns out

Since moving I have made due with OTA HD. Combining that and torrents for the things I cannot record, I am fairly happy with it.

Netflix streaming helps, as well.

Good point. I'm still stuck in the TV mentality, but come to think of it I guess I have been able to watch pretty much everything I'm interested via the Internet... sometimes even without resorting to piracy! *G*

Although it makes me think of this comic.

Also, I really miss having my DVR skip all commercials for me. Hulu isn't that bad, with only 1 or 2 commercials and the same number of breaks, but compared to none whatsoever... it still stings a little.
