I know exactly what you mean...I've always been able to discern the type of people I can really talk to from the ones I have maybe only one or two things in common with. Fortunately, I've been able to pick up a good sense of reading people over the years that I think will always be useful to me, & it seems so have you. Yet I also know there are certain people that I'm friends with where I do understand the "necessity" balance is a little tipped more to one side or the other, but those aren't necessarily less-than-worthy friendships. Some of my friends I feel I could be a good influence on, & then there are the others where it works vice-versa. Friendship requires a lot out of people, like trust, respect & patience. Sometimes, I think, it's one of our most potent of relationships in this world, aside from blood. I know it can all be frustrating, and yes, even I throw my hands up in the air occasionally, saying, "God!
