Historically, I have two or three, depending on whether pseudonyms count.
People have exactly one full name which they go by.
I have two, one of which isn't in the above list.
People have exactly N names, for any value of N.
I'm told that cats have three, but I figure that the point of the matter is, cats wouldn't actually tell you how many they had even if they liked you.
People’s names fit within a certain defined amount of space.
Oh, I love it when I come across blanks meant to hold someone's full name and I think, "I know people with family names longer than this."
