Creative urges strike here and there. I don’t know why. The joy is occasionally following them.

I hate updating my resume. I don’t normally like self-promotion, and to try and recall and distill your work to a few sentences is annoying at best. So rather than being stuck with big resume updates each job shift, I try to check in and keep mine ( Read more... )

Years ago, a friend of mine showed me what he called a resume, and what he and I now refer to as "The Worst Resume Of All Time". Evidently, his college curriculum didn't include the seminar classes that mine did that explained just how a resume should be written. The result was a long, rambling document, full of personal asides and discussions of his weak points.

As I was trying to convey just how wrong the whole thing was, and what a resume was SUPPOSED to be, I finally said, "think of it as your character sheet, dammit!"

Very creative! I'm not an IT expert, but it sounds like you have excellent skills, and a character sheet is a unique way to frame it all =0)
