How to enjoy money

Aug 13, 2005 01:22

Money is nice because it can buy things, time, goods, services, etc. But tonight, another virtue of lucre occurred to me, and I'm going to sleep well because of it. I'll explain it this way:
My pillow is worth about eight thousand dollars, because my pillow IS about eight thousand dollars. In a denim bag. Sweet dreams everyone.

I could sell it for about 8,000 bottles of elmer's glue at the dollar store.

Come on! There's never going to be a better time to steal a CLV van, fill it full of food and 8,000 bottles of glue, and head for the Canadian border!

You're kidding yourself. I just came from Canada. The only thing nice about the place is that it is a little (but not much) cleaner than the U. S. Their beer is terrible, their national sport is lame, there's this whole section of it that's bilingual (but wants to be French without being French) -- and I don't care what you say about 'diversity,' being bilingual is just damned silly. It's a barrier to communication. If I had a U. S. nickel for every time someone walked up to me with an awkward look on their face, wondering whether the hell to say 'hello' or 'bonjour,' trapped between two potentialities of equal offense, I'd be rich ( ... )
