"For the last 10 seasons, Gervais has served as the head football coach at Skyline High School in Sammamish, Wash. and compiled a 94-22 record. He took over a program that did not win a single game in its inaugural season of football in 1997 and, over the next nine seasons, led the Spartans to three state championships (2000, 2005 & 2007) and a runner-up finish in 2005. In 2007, he led Skyline to a 14-0 record and a class 3A state title in a thrilling come-from-behind 42-35 victory over O'Dea in the championship game. That team averaged 37.4 points per game while limiting opponents to just 9.3. Following the season, he was named the state coach of the year. "
