George Thorogood

The Thursday before the race was the George Thorogood concert in the old ('30's) Fox Theatre in Downtown Bakersfield.  This beautiful, old theatre holds about 1,500 people.  We had front row seats, thanks to my cousin Ward.  Dennis, the balloon man, flew in from Phoenix for the show.  Dennis and I drove home after the show to Long Beach and I got
