I should post mine, I have like 2 that have a castle and/or clocktower in them. And some gorgeous ones FROM castles. ;)

I decided to try to stay on theme ... and with few exeptions did not post pictures FROM the castles ... unless they were views of clock towers. Where are your pictures from?

Realised my castle was actually in Croatia, so doesn't count. ;) Most beautiful views were from the castle in Sarajevo, and I got one of that disgraceful Christian clocktower in Mostar.

Do you mean the clock tower on the monstrosity of a cathedral there? I have a Jesuit friend from Zagreb who says that this over-dimensional building style is something typical of the Croats in Bosnia. My focus was on these free standing clock towers. I understand that they are a Muslim tradidion, to keep believers on schedule with prayers five times a day. I suppose that Muslim tradition dictates that Mosques don't have nonreligious functional elements like clocks on them ... which lead to the evolution of these structures. My speculation.

Regarding castles in Croatia: post some pictures!! And the castle views in Sarajevo!
