if you are into oatmeal biscuits, i made these with a friend as part of our christmas baking day
ANZAC Biscuits
one cup rolled oats
one cup sugar (the finer the better, i prefer raw)
125 gm margarine
half tspn bicarb soda
one cup plain flour
3/4 cup coconut
two tblspns golden syrup
one tblspn boiling water
one cup sultanas (my canadian friend introduced me to the wisdom of adding these)
biscuit tray
turn on a slow oven (150 celscius or 300 fahrenheit)
STEP ONE: da dry ingredients
- Mix oats, flour, sugar, coconut in one bowl
STEP TWO: da wet ingredients
- Melt marj and golden syrup in microwave (make sure your container is covered and really stand there and watch it)
- Mix bicarb soda and boiling water together then add to marj/golden syrup mix.
so now all wet stuff is combined, stir it into the bowl of dry ingredients and add the sultanas
Place tablespoonfuls of mixture onto lightly greased biscuit trays.
Bake in slow oven for 20 minutes (when they are brown, they are done).
Loosen while still warm, resist urge to gobble them up while still warm
Cool on tray
