For what it's worth, Miracle Laurie is coming back. She mentioned that at Shore Leave.

But just as a one-shot, right? No matter; I'm through with the "well, this thing we have planned for the future will make things better" promises.

She just said "I'll be back for season two." She didn't say whether it was for one or multiple episodes.

I don't have an issue with Eliza Dushku's acting or with the way the first season went (although I didn't like the post-apoc "Epitaph One" -- been there, done that, yawn).
