I have that book up next in my "to read" list, since I spent the last month readin' the Destiny trilogy & read Singular Destiny over Christmas weekend.

I like Ed McBain! I haven't read some in awhile. Did you catch the crossover appearances of some characters into Stephen King's The Stand?

I am reading A.S. Byatt The Children's Hour, a Xmas gift. If I were organized I could report on the books I read this year, but alas, no such organization for me!

I read The Stand back when King put out the Big-Ass Revised Edition in 1990-whatever, and didn't pick up my first McBain book until 2000 or so. Never made any connection between the two.

And, for what it's worth, Diana Comet would definitely place in my personal top 5 of the year.
