WoW?

I was considering playing WoW since I've heard good things. Is playing a warlock good for my first class? Any tips on what race to play? Am i wasting my time? Should I stick to guitar hero? Thanks...

a warlock is a good class to play because you can handle both ranged and melee fighting by yourself. the pet is nice too, because they can draw aggro by getting close while you stay out of immediate range. hunters and shamans are also supposed to be good for single questing (this may not be how you end up playing, but it is more my style). as for race... i have an undead lock that i love, but haven't played any other races with that class so can't say more than that.

check out http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/index.xml (Game Guide on the left) and http://www.wowwiki.com/Main_Page (lots of good articles and quest tips) to help you get started.

I played Warlock as my main character when I did WoW (keep in mind, I last played 2 1/2 years ago). I liked them because they were very good as a support character in a group but they were also good when you're grinding alone. They're probably the slowest character at killing enemies but you can cast spells on many characters at once.

Back when I played, they were probably the most in-demand character in groups, so I always had people to play with. Man, you're tempting me to go back to playing WoW. EVIL.

warlocks are easy mode and also kick a lot of ass. it's a very powerful class that's easy to spec for either pvp or pve. i personally love wow, i'm not playing at the moment because raiding was taking up too much of my time, but i do love it. a warlock could be very you as long as you don't mind having a lot of spells and abilities to learn. you can play by using only a few, but to really "pwn" you'd want to get used to them all. like bacon said, hunters are also very easy and good for solo play, but you might get bored, i dunno. they're great for pvp at high levels too (i should know, i have one) but if i had it to do over i might have made a warlock first ( ... )

I downloaded some free trial (10 days) from the warcraft site (hence the interest) but it is having problems connecting. Something about my firewall (which i hafta have because of school). Is getting connected going to be a bitch? Also, i exclusivley use wireless internet with either linksys routers or my schools server

the code i have will give you a free month once you pay for the game, i think, so i'll send that along in case you need it. what kind of connectivity problems are you getting? is it trouble with downloading the trial or with connecting to the game once it's installed? in the first case you're fine; in the other, you may have a problem ( ... )
