Here's a meme I snagged from scarfman, who snagged it from rodlox, who got it for free at Kroger's becuase it had the wrong price tag on it.

Give me the title of a story I've never written, and feedback telling me what you liked best about it, and I will tell you any of: the first sentence, the last sentence, the thing that made me want to write it, the biggest ( Read more... )

I've seen your MSTings but till Who Lives And Who Dies I never expected you to actually cross MST3K over with another show. But despite the diametrically opposed moods of the two properties you made it work.

I almost didn't. It's kind of a meta line to cross, almost like breaking the fourth wall in reverse where Mike (and Joel) & the Bots were concerned, but I figured it was worth a shot.

But despite the diametrically opposed moods of the two properties

It's hard to think of two universes that would have less in common, even though despite its dystopic vision of the future, King actually wrote humor into his story (grim humor, granted). I had to cast Tom & Crow's usual wisecracks as more (literall) whistling past the graveyard humor here.

you made it work

Thanks. I think the scene that makes it work more than anything is Mike and Joel and the Bots, standing sadly over the bodies of Pearl and Bobo, as Observer grimly informs them of the true source of teh plague. I had more scenes with dialog between Dr. F and Flagg, but I couldn't figure out a way to make them fit in the context of the story, but I might publish them as separate vignettes later.

I think I love you! piowapuff September 15 2009, 17:58:52 UTC
Wheee! I just started to read your post and saw the David Cassidy comment and went into a contemplative moment where I was back at the swimming pool listening to David Cassidy.

The other meme thing I don't think I have the brain power and the time to figure out. But you did delight me with the music selection, however inadvertent.
