I'm so sorry. I don't like to make fun of people, but this is too funny.
Where the hell did this girl come up with this shit? It's not even in the right order. lmao.
"so...i know that theres probably alot of you out there who are probably wondering about the storyline & the characters in greendays american idiot. even if you have an idea of it...you should still read this. it'll help you understand the album more.
THE CHARACTERS
Idiot American - the main character, he's a troubled kid who feels hopeless & confused about his place in the world, and everything thats going on in the world.
St. Jimmy - one of the two split personalities of the main character. Jimmy is the rebelious type and has the kind of 'fuck you' mindset. He knows what's wrong with the world, and he obivously isn't afraid to say it.
Jesus of Suburbia - the other split personality of the main character. JOS is more laid back/relaxed, but he's still very out spoken. He's extremly well-educated on what he's talking about, where as Jimmy just says it.
Rage - the father of Jimmy/JOS
Love - the mother of Jimmy/JOS
Whatsername - the girl that Jimmy dates/has it bad for.
Tummy - not 100% sure, but I think it's a friend that Jimmy made.
Whatsisface - the guy that took Whatserface away from Jimmy.
THE STORY : EXPLAINED BY SONG[NOT IN ORDER BY THE TRACK LISTING]
American Idiot - the idiot american goes off on how messed up the american government is, & how it's fucking him over and he can't do a single damn thing about it. Basically introducing us into the story.
Holiday - pretty much the same as American Idiot as far as the message. except this explain what the idiot american objects too...pretty much how he views the world.
Jesus of Suburbia - introduces us to JOS. it explains to us his beliefs, his parents & how he was concieved [his father's rage & his mother's love]. St. Jimmy is also revieled in this song, during the 3rd peice 'I Don't Care', you can tell right away that Jimmy is one pissed off individual.
St. Jimmy - really introduces us to Jimmy, the rebel "punkfucker" kid. There's some forshadowing going on at the end of the song with his death, when they mention his taste for suicidal. This is when I started understand the whole father's rage/mother's love concept. the father's rage is what makes up Jimmy, and the mother's love is what makes up JOS. anyway...
Boulevard of Broken Dreams - so Jimmy/JOS persaude themselves to leave town. they feel alone & hopeless. JOS blames Jimmy for the mess theyre in...& pretty much leaves him.
We Are The Waiting - here you can sense that Jimmy is lonely without JOS, he's lonely as a whole and isn't exactly sure how he's gonna fix things.
Give Me Novacaine - JOS comes back to Jimmy, and is pleading for him to take all of they're pain away.
She's a Rebel/Extrodinary Girl - so even in all of this craziness, Jimmy meets a girl thats alot like him, Whatsername. They begin to date, & Jimmy's crazy about her.
Letterbomb - ahhh the breakup. Whatsername leaves Jimmy/JOS for Whatsisface. In the beginning of the song she is taunting him by singing 'nobody likes you, everyone left you...' this song could be taken as either a letter from Whatsername to J. [her nickname for Jimmy] or J singing it to himself.
Wake Me Up When September Ends - telling about Jimmy/JOSs depression of leaving home. [NOTE: Billie Joe really wrote the song about his father who died 22 years ago, it just happened to emotionally play into the story]
Homecoming - so pretty much everythings summed up here. JOS decides to go home. & Jimmy ends up killing himself, signifying the death of the punk/hXc side of the main character. East 12th Street is telling us whats going on with JOS after the death of Jimmy. well, he ends up going and getting a job, but still mentions that Jimmy could be found ["wishing he could have cigarettes and alcohol with the under belly"]. Rock & Roll Girlfriend mailed to J. from Tummy, who's a friend of J. basically saying how his lifes going & tauting JOS by saying how he has rock & roll this...& rock & roll that...JOS flips out by going into Nobody Likes You....the songs ends with JOS going home.
Whatsername - JOS comes across Whatsername again, he remembers all the times they had together...he then finds out that Whatsername ended up with Whatsisface.
so thats my interpretation of the album...and from some of the stuff i've read its pretty much right. if anyone has anything to add...please feel free to say it.
hope i helped...it helps to understand where the albums going if you understand the story and all."
Yeah, that was idiotic.
