HAPPY SAMEDI GRAS!
You people probably all think I'm nuts for taking so many pictures. I'm SAVING the MEMORIES.
First, there was Denny's!
Cat and I arrive, and we were the only ones there. Fortunately, Nina saved the day by being there, and we had HER tell the manager that we were going to bring thirty people in for a party. She didn't believe me at first, so I had to name all the guests from memory. Not only does my memory fail me, though, but I just didn't know that about ten other people were going to show up. We got lucky that we all fit.
We sat down, and the group was instantaneously divided into guys and dolls, except for the rare exception of pairings that were exempt from the rules. At first the tension was high. Harsh insults were exchanged constantly between the two groups. In fact, Katrina made Drew cry:
His breakdown signified that the conflict had gone on too far, and through tears and hugs and onion rings, the conflict was resolved.
Random other moments from Denny's, Mongler made a visit:
We had to wait half an hour for this woman addicted to gambling to leave the crane machine, so we could play. We didn't win. ;__;
Also pictured is our GRACIOUS HOST, Christina Domres! Thank you for being so good to us, I'm sorry we probably got you in trouble, just for knowing us.
The first sign that people don't like their picture taken is when they show you chewed up food:
After Denny's we had a LONG line to wait in to check out. Individual checks WAS easier than it would have been to add all that up, but it still took a while. Sorry to WHOSEVER parent drives a LARGE RED VAN. He was freaking PISSED OFF when we drove away; very impatient with how slow the check out process was going, I guess.
THEN THE PARTY WAS TAKEN TO THE NEXT LEVEL AS WE REACHED MY TOTALLY RAD PAD!
"EXTREEEEEME!!"
We popped in Blue Man Group, and everyone packed into a futon to watch. Naji enjoyed it thoroughly.
I want to give a realistic depiction of the party's undertones of disco grooves. This is what it ACTUALLY looked like:
I don't know if these guys are enjoying themselves from Blue Man Group or what, but that doesn't matter. They look happy.
And that's not the whole room. Since I'm usually the one holding the camera, you don't see where I am in these photos! Naji took over:
Also, I have a record of getting the strangest expressions Stephanie can muster on film, so I quickly kept with tradition with this photo:
We put in MICHAEL JACKSON NUMBER ONES after a ruthless hunt for the remote control and a disturbing wrestling match between Marco and I, and Maria immediately livened up the mood with a conga line!
In addition to the mad dance-offs, we started playing "Sardines". How many people can fit on Bill's futon before it breaks?
How romantic, and right in front of the Laundry Room, too... Aww...
Again, Marco just has to get drunk at ALL my parties:
The JD kids. No one spoke to them, lulz. We can break down the school barriers for ONE NIGHT, can't we?
Then came the big hit, KATAMARI DAMACY. I'm always afraid that the interest only exists in Ian, Steph, and my crazed weeaboo minds, but this game's fun-factor lives on! Here's Drew having a blast:
Here's Maria imitating the King of All Cosmos:
Here's Roosa losing his freaking mind at the mere sight of this hallucinogenic game:
Last Katamari Picture. WHAT'S GOING ON:
Here's Marco being a pimp near the end of the night:
And most of the people who stayed to the very end:
And lights out. Sleepy time.
And that was the party! I hope you all enjoyed it.
Comments? Questions? Ideas for future parties? Go right ahead! :D
P.S.
Go look at Katrina's awesome pics!
