The way I justify it is that, she probably didn't trust Sweets about it at first. But then Booth goes and tells her that he loves her in an "atta girl kinda way" and that throws her for a loop. He doesn't appear overtly jealous when she goes on that first date with Hacker (at least not to her) and that just leaves her confused.
She trusts Booth, but I don't think she fully lets herself trust what she thinks he feels for her. At least, not all the time.
Thanks, M. You know, already, that your words are ♥.

And the brain scan thing was brilliant! I can totally see her having seen the brain scans, especially since she made that toast about starting to believe that maybe love comes before the chemical reaction.
Beautifully written! :)

The idea kinda started too, from the GG Ep, The Dwarf in the Dirt and how Brennan had told Sweets things like how he wasn't using the same hand to drink coffee or the same foot to climb stairs. She and Sweets have talked about him. We just haven't seen it.
Again, thanks for the kind words! ♥

And he doesn't need to look into it much to know that it has everything to do with the fact that it's a Friday night and that on said Friday night, she's here with him and nobody else.
I really enjoy how there's not even a question of it for him, that he just knows. Not only that she's the reason for it, but that it has greater meaning than even she realizes.
“She wasn't what, Booth?”
“You.”
It slips out. Just like that.
♥ sooo much. Omw, just... I can totally picture it happening. The undeniable truth of it catching him - them - off guard.
She kisses him then and he takes the opportunity to hold her hand; pull it to him and press it to his chest. The skin on skin contact isn't something new to them anymore yet it still feels entirely new.
What a beautiful image. The play of the newness against the lack of it is stunning and leads brilliantly into the last sentence.
Thanks so much for brightening my night. *mwah

I think it's only a matter of time before they come clean. I mean, right now they're stuck in this place where everything they say has double meanings and everything they do... they have to think twice about it (think about how the other will react) before doing it. And all of that? That just isn't them.
Also, it's the first time I've written something that really made me smile since the 100th and it felt nice. :)
Thanks Liz! ♥.
And can I also just add that... you know how I always tell you that you pick out my favourite lines or phrases?

Well, you've done it again.
