Star Wars Session 3

Session three went even better than session two. Once we got going, the game seemed to flow from scene to scene rather well. If only my players would stop splitting up the group.

On Tatooine, Master Gant left our intrepid band of Jedi to follow up some knowledge he had about some of the other Jedi. Shortly after, as the characters wandered Mos Eisley looking for something to do, a stranger called out to Pann from a crowd. Pann recognized him as Adrun Organa, a friend from when he was young. The group retired to their ship, where Adrun explained his problem to them. He and a group of friends have been working for several years to help slaves on Tatooine and other worlds escape from their owners and reach new planets where they will be safe. He and his partner were supposed to meet a transport a few days before, but the ship hasn't shown up yet. To make matters worse, Adrun's partner was captured by the local 'authorities' the night before.

The group decided first to gather up the escaped slaves, hiding out in a disguised cave amid the ravines near Mos Eisley. They flew the ship to the area, and landed it in a ravine large enough to hide it. J'Fael (A Twi'lek and the group's best pilot) stayed with the ship while the rest of the group and Adrun hiked into the narrow gullies to find the slaves and bring them out to the ship.

J'Fael worked the sensors a bit, and detected a small group of speeder trucks headed toward the area. Assuming them to be after the slaves, J'Fael warned the others and flew the ship out of the disguising ravine. He buzzed the trucks, then headed into town. The trucks turned back toward town as well, their leader assuming that the slaves he was after were on board the ship. Unknown to the Jedi, he notified the local customs office, who dispatched a couple fighters to investigate the area.

The ship returned to the ravine and landed to load the escaped slaves on board. Just as the first slaves where climbing the boarding ramp, the customs fighters buzzed the ravine, then turned back to attack. Nadia, now on board, took the pilot's seat as J'Fael, the only qualified gunner, climbed into the ship's turret and returned fire. One of the fighters hit the ship, the fire splashing off its shields. In return the other fighter was damaged, trailing smoke as it sputtered its way to a Mos Eisley landing strip. As the remaining fighter turned for another attack run, the last of the slaves made it on board the ship. At that news, Nadia slammed the ship to full power and climbed out of the ravine. With his fire arcs unhindered by the rocky walls of the sheltering ravine, J'Fael was able to bracket the last fighter and destroy it.

All that remained was rescuing Adrun's partner, Tomas. Nadia managed to believably fake crashing the ship (drawing "women drivers" comments from all the players) right next to the detention center/security station where Tomas was being held. Kana distracted the security personnel as J'Fael and Pann leapt from the ship to the roof of the two-story security station. As Kana continued her distraction, the two Jedi on the roof used their lightsabers to cut their way into the building, riding down on the blocks of building structure as they cut each hole.

In the basement, they found the holding cells and an unpleasant security droid. Short work with blaster and lightsaber left the droid a smoking pile of scrap on the floor. They located Tomas, and used a grapple gun and automatic winch to zip back up to the roof of the building to the even greater confusion of two local officers who were trying to figure out where all the noise and large holes came from.

Pann and J'Fael leaped back onto the ship with Tomas in tow, Kana disengaged herself from the security staff and boarded, and Nadia lifted ship. She pointed the freighter at the stars and blasted out of Tatooine's atmosphere and transitioned to hyperspace before customs could get into position to stop them.

Next stop, Alderaan and Adrun's contact to set up new lives for the escaped slaves.

I'm still working on describing things better. I seem to get so caught up in figuring out what will happen next that I forget the things that are happening at the time. Some way to remind myself to describe people and things would help; maybe a "cheat sheet" of some sort would do the trick.
