OOOOOOOklahoma!

Stupid snow, with its not waiting for me to get home before starting up. So now, 4 hours from the end of my 13 hour drive, I'm in a hotel in Oklahoma City waiting the storm out.

I guess I should have taken Friday off. Ah well.

Oooh! If you can get out, go to Trapper's Fish Camp.

(And yes, that is a really bizarre URL for them to have. Huh.)

Nope, no getting out. The parking lots and side streets and such are iced over. Between the ice and the wind, I was barely able to stay on my feet walking into the hotel.

Major bummer. Because if you're going to get randomly stuck somewhere, OKC isn't a half-bad place to do it, if you can get around. We spent a weekend there awhile back (zoo+science center) but could have spent a lot more time... we didn't even make it to Bricktown *or* the Paseo that trip.

We got not much ice, just drifty snow. Could have gotten out, by this evening, provided we could find the Saturn under the drift, but we decided there wasn't any really pressing need. Roads didn't seem half-bad (didn't hurt that the neighbor's son(s) came by with plows on their big ol' lawnservice trucks and plowed Fern, which isn't usually high on the city's priority list).

Oh, great... I have to go thataway for Christmas. Hopefully it'll be cleared up by then.

Anyway, it was great seeing you again in Dallas!

Well? Did you make it somewhere? Inquiring minds want to know [that you're not trapped in your car in a ditch on 35].

Inquiring minds got an answering-machine message saying billwerk is at his folks' house, with no Internet access.
