[SotF] The Force

I've been pondering on the Force, and how to represent it in this Star Wars game. I think I'm leaning toward a single Force skill and two or three stunts. The blatant powers (Jedi mind trick, telekinesis, jumping, etc.) will be Fate point driven, to keep them from completely outclassing the other stunts and keep players from using them to get out ( Read more... )

I'm a bit shakey on the rules, but can't you invoke a scene descriptor, like 'it's now dark,' which is then tagged? That way, Vader isn't doing one stunt over and over, he's invoking a whatsis on the overall scene...

I dunno, am I making sense? Basically, change the scope.

Yeah, he could use TK to do a maneuver, but he'll still need to be spending fate points to tag the aspect.

I'm looking at the "seduction of the Dark Side" bit. Having the Dark Side gives you extra fate points in exchange for an aspect to be compelled in the future could be a good way to manage that mechanically. Of course, I'm not sure I _want_ to handle that mechanically. I think I'll be better off leaving it all fuzzy and just handling it directly with aspects. If a player wants to mess around with being tempted by the Dark Side, he can take an aspect and voluntarily compel it when appropriate.
