Our house has a similar pedigree: in the 1881 census it belonged to a vicar's wife, daughter and servant; in 1901 (I think) to the wife of the man who ran the hotel which was "next door" (a mile up the road). Oddly enough, the old folks in the village still pretend that the house was built as one, and then divided; one look at the structure of the house, the chimneys, etc. and another look at the censuses prove otherwise.

Isn't Glubb a fantastic name? Someone in the book I've just finished was called Nobble.

Well I never - with Glubb being an unusual name and Mayfield being quite close one can't help feeling there may be a connection.

I think Pissey is a great name - it is a shame you weren't Pissey. Did you enjoy your 50's poodle, I know it was an odd present (and probably fashioned for the gay market in Brighton if I am truly honest) but you are a hard man to buy for.

I'm often pissy....

When did you post it? Because I don't remember having seen it, and neither does the wife, so it doesn't seem to have shown up. This is potentially bad. I had and still have a 50s poodle sized hole in my life.
