in the streets of kiev

Inevitably, the stalemate in the Ukraine is going to fucking blow up. Apparently, the 'official' results of the election were just released. There are tens of thousands of people in the streets. There's already talk of bloodshed, civil war, and revolution.

you know we've been discussing this and its nothing short of fascinating - i for one am watching and waiting
there is a lot more wieghing on this election that just some ukranian national reforms
bill if you think this is intriguing, you should read about lech walesa and the polish elections of the 80s - thats some wild stuff and there are a lot of similarities - particularly the questionable role of russia in the whole situation

hey bros.

i've thought about this a couple different ways. positive mass mobilization makes me giddy. people voting in this election were voting for things like putting food on the table, earning more than the equivalent of 5-60 dollars a year, etc. how obviously filthy this Putin coup seems. he's playing illegal land grab after vowing to tighten his grip on what i think he caled Russia's 'near abroad.' but it's interesting too because what i guess you could call moral values played a part too and i would like to know how, if it all, they factored into each side of the pro-US/pro-Moscow binary ( ... )

nothing's gonna "inevitably" blow up, you gay-ass violence-mongering suburban middle-class greenpoint-colonizing commodity-fetish punk rocker. they're all thinking about what happened in georgia (you can google "georgia rose revolution" if you need to find out more). nothing in the front-line blogs or news articles suggests even the slightest potential for widespread violence. you're like the subsurface layer of baudrillard's system-committing-suicide--just short of being conscious of his own desire for annihilation ( ... )
