Billy, Merry Christmas, Happy Days Always. Your facebook page was the best thing you could do for your fans (other than your music, d'oh) and, being who you are, it must be difficult trying to communicate while having negativity. There's a saying in Spanish: "a palabras necias, oídos sordos" which means foolish words fall on deaf ears. It's the best advice I could give you. Even if you don't come back, know that a handful of negativity-ridden people can never override all the love and the lovers. And the 20,000 lovers you had on your page, miss you. Much love from Perú - hope you eat lots of fruit on your holidays ;)

I know this comment is spectacularly late (first time on your blog but not the last!), but I just wanted to say that you are a great inspiration to me. Your music gets me through tough times and helps me appreciate the fantastic moments of life. The Smashing Pumpkins, whether old or new, will always be my favorite band. It's funny how you say that the old Pumpkins will never age gracefully, but I truly think that the Smashing Pumpkins are immortal. I'm just a teenager and I can affirm that despite much of the music these days, your voice is still heard for those souls who are listening. Thank you so much. Thank you so much for being yourself and making such wonderful music.
