Adam sat down with a slight huff of his breath. Rory looked up from his book and have he a questioning glance.
“We just discussed ‘No Man’s Land.’ They’re really going to do it. They’re going to kill Eric.” Adam brought a hand to his face, scrubbing like he could erase the last few hours.
Rory just stared. “Are you serious? They’re killing ANOTHER character?! Fuck - the original CSI doesn’t have this problem!” He scooted over to lay a comforting arm on Adam’s shoulder.
Adam snuggled into the juncture of Rory’s neck. “I mean, I know it’s just a character - but it’s been me for the last 5 years! Hell, I don’t know how to NOT be Eric Delko.”
Rory nodded in silent agreement. When he’d left Miami, it had been on his own terms. Adam had built most of his career on his role in Miami. His whole world had just been turned upside down.
Adam released a sigh and sat up. “David told me to come to dinner tonight - you too. We all were in shock when the writers told us, so he decided we needed a little time to adjust before going back on set tomorrow.
Rory replied, “That’s fine. When are we suppose to be there and what do we need to bring?”
Adam stood up from the couch and held out a hand for his lover. “We’re suppose to be there at 8, but…” he paused as he drew Rory in for a quick kiss, “he wouldn’t be surprised if we were running a little late.”
Rory chuckled as Adam started to walk toward their bedroom. If Rory knew one thing, it was that CSI: Miami had been the best thing in both their lives. The meeting of indie child Rory Cochrane and TV newbie Adam Rodriguez had changed both of their lives for the better. They’d started dating within the first six months and hadn’t looked back. He knew the next few months would be rough on Adam - but they’d make it through.
