Why am I connecting to people like this all of a sudden? And right before the summer before college?

Person K: It's a bit random, but what helps you decide if you should date someone or not?
Me: I usually go with my gut and my heart. If it feels right, go for it. It doesn't matter is you can see yourself with them in 10 years. It only matters if you can see yourself with them right then. Sometimes things just click. Sometimes they take a little more work. But if you care for someone and you might want to take it further, then go for it.
Person K: So even if it takes a little work, it's still worth going for it?
Me: Not everything is as instant as pudding.
Person K: Mmm... Instant pudding... But yeah, good point.
Me: Sometimes you have to work at a relationship like you would anything else. Sometimes those are the most rewarding relationships of all.
Person K: Yeah.
Me: And sometimes, things just happen, things just click, everything just feels perfect.
Person K: Wow... You're so right. I never even thought of it like that. It's a totally different way of viewing things... And I've been thinking about most of my situations in the total wrong way.
Me: You can relate relationships to almost anything. It can be like playing guitar. Sometimes you're just naturally good and it takes no effort, and sometimes you have to work at it. The people who work and work and work usually end up being the best, and have the most conviction.
Person K: I swear, you are one of the most brilliant people I've talked to. Ever. That just made everything SO much clearer for me. I was looking at relationships as the type of thing that had to be perfect RIGHT NOW for it to work. And you helped me realize that it's going to take work before I decide to throw it out the window.
Me: Yeah. You just have to remember that sometimes you just suck at playing the guitar. Sometimes shit just doesn't work out, no matter how much you put into it. Sometimes things just aren't right for you.
Person K: Yeah.
Me: Relationships are hard, and there are only a few cases out of a wide range that just click. Those are the worst to lose. You feel like your world just came crashing down, that everything that came easy before suddenly became hard. You lose so much hope and charisma. I should know.

2. I think it's going to my head.
3. I sucked at playing the guitar. Like actually playing it. I don't think I practiced enough.
