It all sounds very traditionally nerd meets jock. How will this work with the Special I wonder.

Well, I wrote it after reading through the Special, so it takes quite a bit from it. What I love about the YA Special is that it shows some of the motivation behind the characters, and that's what I'm embellishing on a little in this series.

Yeah, it's typical, but I think for a first series it's pretty dang good. Then again, I am biased. ;) My aim is to create a decent prequel to the comic, and I'm doing all the research I can (seeing as I have every issue). I just hope that I don't accidently collide with cannon! :X

I really like how Teddy is so desperate to stay cool so he can remain accepted by his classmates. It does remind me that he's had this power to shapeshift probably from the moment he was born so he's probably always felt abnormal.

I like it because of the nice contrast to Billy. Even Teddy himself thinks that Billy is 'stronger' than him. And how this is what's drawing Teddy to Billy.

I really like this. It just... fits. I like the little details like the chat rooms about Wolverine, and the self-help books. I also like Teddy flunking on purpose just to get a tutor. Billy may be smarter, but Teddy is also pretty bright.
