1. We kinda know the same people, and enjoyed talking at Roz's parties. At least *I* enjoyed talking.
2. Hmm. I guess I associate you most with ancient Greek things, like the Muses or the oracle at Delphii. Loved that picture of you that you posted on facebook the other day.
3. I like your ethereal, slightly other-worldly quality.
4. Dancing at Roz's parties
5. When did you write your first poem?
6. Gah, don't know how to paste into comments. The one you call rocker mermaid.

I didn't officially fall in love with poetry until age 15 at Idyllwild Arts camp after I heard Allen Ginsberg's "America."
Which photo on Facebook? The one with the blue headdress?

That's the one. In small size I thought you had a braided half-up do and no headdress. That would probably look nice on you too.

1. I've just always enjoyed talking to you and hearing what you're up to.
2. As I've said before, the Remedios Varo painting "Search for the Source of the Orinoco River" or whatever it's called.
3. Your kindness and fair-mindedness
4. Actually my very first memory of you before we'd met is seeing your unshaved legs my first week at Porter and thinking, I'm going to like it here!
5. What's your favorite work of art and why?
6. I'm most fond of your default user pic for katura_art.

What's my favorite work of art? That's a toughie...will have to consult the pillow on that one, as they say. (I can think of favorite artists, and of favorite moments had viewing art with friends, but the actual favorite piece of art in its own merit? Yikes!)

>>Fave work of art that I actually own: a diagram of the internal organs of an earthworm, labeled in Spanish, done in sharpie marker on butcher paper by one of my Peace Corps agriculture trainers. He was not an "artist" by his own estimation but I love the accuracy and the look of the lines and the overall feel of the piece. A great example of the ongoing struggle to communicate science visually.
>>Fave famous piece of art that I've seen in person and that lived up to all its hype: Pearblossom Highway, the photocollage by David Hockney. Had seen lots of reproductions and thought the idea was clever, but when I walked into the gallery at the Getty and saw it HUGE in person, it totally knocked my socks off. Plus, I have an affinity for scrappy California desert landscapes.
