12 of 12: March, the View from My Couch

Mar 13, 2010 00:12

I promise you, every other day this week, I got out of the house, I saw people, I did things. Yeah, maybe they were even interesting things! But today being 12 of 12, of course I stayed in and worked. Sorry about that. Happy bday to graymalkn 's and my dad, though. Yes, we have so much in common that our dads even share a birthday. It is uncanny.

Oh this was Helen (Dogeared) - I had tried logging in as my LJ account but forgot the password, because I stay logged in normally and this comment leaving didn't remember that. Then I gave up and went anonymous and forgot I'd not left my name until I tried commenting on greymalkn's LJ too...

Hi, Helen. :-) I thought it might be you!

Daikon is a Japanese radish sort of thing. I am not very fond of it. I can't honestly tell you if the green variety is superior to the common or white variety b/c we, um, *over-caramelized* our vegetables.

Heh, Wolverine, indeed. ;-) Pity 2 is so much better than 1 or 3, though. The funny thing is, my mom has a crush on Hugh Jackman from his Oklahoma performance (man is a triple threat!) and will watch anything with him in it, even action/comic book movies!

Hummm... never heard of a daikon before. Is it a type of potato/parsnip? How did the roasting turn out?

Your kitties are SO cute! Thanks for sharing them.
Happy Birthday, dads!

Thanks, Jill!

Daikon is a Japanese radish. We're usually good with roasting, but they didn't turn out so great this time. Some mis-timing on when to add various things. However, still delicious!
