Christmas Shopping

FINALLY.

Just came back in from town having completed my Christmas shopping. Thankfully, I made the decision to do the majority of mine after November payday, so I only had to worry about the stuff for mum's stocking. Me and my brother have taken up making my mum a stocking every Christmas. Because he lives at home rent free, and has about £800 a month spare, he tends to get the majority of the stuff, but I think I've done well this year. I got her Marc Jacobs perfume (I'm really nervous about that one, I hope she likes it) a desk calendar, a book by Maeia Angels Anglada, a posh book of crosswords, a cute starbucks coffee flask and some worlds best mum socks. I also found some stick on tattoos as a joke present, seeing as last year she got her first tattoo ever! Everyone else was sorted in November so now I'm just going to sit back and relax until I get back to my mums.

I can't say I'm looking forward to seeing people at home. It's weird, I'm so displaced. I can't make my mums house feel like home, even though it's where I grew up. I don't have that sense of nostalgia that everyone else seems to get. Maybe it's because mum's changed everything and nothing feels that familiar. Even my cats are dead, and now we have kittens. Cute, yes, but I had my cats for almost fourteen years. The kittens aren't my cats. They don't come when I call them, and they don't sit on my back and kneed my shoulders (my old cats did this because they were epic and cool). I guess you can never go home. How depressing.

In other news, if you like the Walking Dead, I found this fanfic which is TOO CUTE! It's the apocalypse from the point of view of a dog. I'm a little in love with it.
