Imma tough Mudder!

Or I will be. I've finally thought up my New Year Resolutions, and of course, they include running.



My first one is kind of obvious, but still important. Lose 20-25lbs to get to about 120lbs/8st 7. It's not a health issue, but man, I'd love to be slim. It actually shouldn't be too hard. I do enough cardio to get the job done, I just need to cut out all the crap I eat. And I eat alot of crap. D'oh.

Then, I made the decision that I really want to push myself in my running. So I have three sub resolutions here, and I'm going to aim to do at least one.
-Beat 2:11:11 on a half marathon
-Do a Full Marathon
-Do Tough Mudder.

Tough Mudder, for those of you who are not aware, is an intense obstacle course, created by the special forces. It is INTENSE. A standard twelve mile run it is not; during the course, you can expect to plunge through swamps, battle through netting, be ELECTROCUTED and run through fire. If ever I wanted a challenge, this is it. It's primary a US event. but they have started to bring the fun over to the UK. I probably won't enter for 2012, purely because there is no location close to me, but oh, what's that? They're bringing Tough Mudder to Birmingham in 2013? Sweet.

(NB I really hope the world isn't ending in 2012. That'd mess everything up.)

I also decided I should really make the effort to pass basic skills in Derby. I want to be better and I want to train with the intermediates. And so, that means practice twice and week and actually studying my handbook! I'm horribly lax at studying.

And those are my New Years Resolutions for 2012. Who knows if I'll complete them, but I'm gonna have a dang good time trying!
